Seniors Continue Fundraising With Movie Night

Focusing on raising enough movie to pay for senior prom as well as other senior activities, the senior cabinet will continue their string of fundraising events by hosting a movie night on October 30th at 6pm on the football field.

Senior prom is expected to cost about $30,000, and with the senior class currently having about $13,000, the cabinet knows they still have their work cut out for them. However, they’ve already been hard at work raising money through bake sales, Soak-a-Senior, Halloween grams, and Fleet week parking.

The senior cabinet is also considering holding a buldak eating contest as another fundraiser. Which is a completion to see who can finish eating buldak ramen the fastest.

The activist chairperson Laythan L. said, “It does take a lot of work but we all have fun coming up with the ideas of what kind of different fundraisers we can do and its usually very fun”.

As for Movie Night, the movie being shown will be Light out, a scary movie to match the Halloween theme. The seniors will also be selling popcorn during the event to help raise additional money.

Tickets will cost $5 dollars for seniors and $7 for non-seniors. Tickets can be purchased in the ASB store during lunch. Students must bring their student ID to enter the event. Blankets are allowed so students can stay warm while watching the movie outside. Outside guests are not permitted.

Senior Santiago S. a student that is attending movie night, said,” I’m excited to be able to attend something like this before my senior year ends since its my first time going and I’m also happy that I am able to go with my friends so its definitely going to be a fun night for me,” Senior Kevin V. added,“ I’m honestly just looking forward to watch the scary movie and just hangout with friends”.
